Welcome to the forum, keep a look out for notification for ride outs in the Scottish Section and obviously the North Section of Englandshire, you made a good decision going from the Tiger to the GS IMHO :D :thumb

Butler, how did you manage to get it over that barrier.

In the background you can just see where the barrier slants down for maintenance on that road sign.

Originally, it was the other side, on the centre stand.
When I went back to check on the bike it was on its side. Tyre tracks show a lorry must have moved on to the hard shoulder and clipped it....no damage, amazing!

The picture you see is before we covered it completely in snow incase a van went past and nicked it.

Collecting the bike, started first time too.

thanks to all for the welcome and advice. if the fork legs get damaged has anyone tried fitting a set of gators or some other type of protector/guards.?

As for the Tiger, well it was a good road bike but I wanted more than that from something that looks like a big trail bike. also the seat is so high on the Tiger only the 6 foot + ers should bother. GS is better looking easier to manage at low speed, handles good and I have even tried a bit of off road and it wasnt anything like as scary as it was with the Tiger which put me on my ass as soon as the front wheel lost grip.

PS apologies to Cookson, I seem to have hijacked his thread, I though I had started a new one called NEW GUY TRADING UP

To protect the machined finish on the fork legs, I recomend the clear plastic self adhesive vinyl that sign writers use. Unfortunately I didn't realise this soon enough. But better late than never. ACF-50, PLUS use only the rat bike when the salt is in heavy use.
