HI,

I am currently using a four button cradle ( no locking option ) on my 2010 GSA.

Is it possible to fit the newer cradle with locking option to an earlier model ?

Looking at the fitments in the image it looks like it is just a bracket that would fit on my bike 'bar'? This kit (PRODUCT NUMBER 77 52 8 536 045) says that it does not fit a 2010 model but looking at it. I am not sure. What do you guys think.

yes, absolutely. You can fit the whole mount to anything if it has something to mount to. I have the locking BMW cradle on my K1600, adapted slightly to accommodate a Garmin XT.

OK nice. I am thinking of getting a cradle from somewhere as I cant find any solid information that the Carpuride will fit the four button cradle. I emailed their support and they had no idea what I was on about lol. I will send them a pic of it now and see what they say.

If not i will use this method as mentioned here and fit one of these. Will start a search now in case. If anybody can help because I am drawing blanks finding 'just' the mounbt. The bar is not needed.

If your talking about the old 4 button cradle, i'd say not,

the new cradle is smaller / slimmer

The new cradle as shown above will fit the Kombi & Nav hoop on the MY11 GS & GSA

you just need longer bolts as the Kombi / nav hoop is a bigger diameter if i recall

It's 12mm on the LC GS/GSA

I want the newer cradle on my 2010 GSA. I will figure that out some how. Its for the locking option and a better fit for the Carpuride

OK I have pics

Mine is mounted to a crossbar on the later Givi Airflow screen braces,

So if you want to go that way, you will need to fit a cross bar

alternativly you could an additional nav hoop OE part and fit it to that

This is how mine is mounted at the moment. With no locking option. The Carpuride hoping will fit with the BMW adaptor ( will figure something out if not ) . So the newer cradle I assumed would just mount to the bar.

I think it will fit.

I think the Carpuride will clear the "buttonBump" on the cradle.

Yeah I was thinking that too. Will find out soon :) But as a locking option I thought if I got the ‘newer’ cradle it would mount on my bar no problem. But it’s not easy to find that cradle even if it did …. Well a cheap one at least.

Thinking something like this ( don’t need the bar ) https://www.ebay.com/itm/134850034...8RzCRzdSfW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I'm in the process of helping a mate do what you are trying to do.

I have the Carpuride for him, he put a Cardo on his lid and he ordered the extra bar and a GSA screen for his 2005 GS.

I'm trying to find a locking Nav Prep (at the right money)

I take it that the barrel in the locking mount can be "coded" to his key?

Yes the lock can be coded to his key.
Teeny weeny little screws holding the lock cover will need a tiny screwdriver. Some gentle heat on the plastic first will make them easier to get out….you don’t want to be rounding them off.

No screws on the lock cover its peened on ;)

you will need wafers, as chances are it wont have all the right ones

Let me know if you find the Nav Prep at the right money haha..hopefully they have 2,. There are some in EU on eBay as in the link above but thats too much money . I am not sure also if the Nav Prep (newer) will go around the GSA assembly bar like in my pic. Maybe it is too thick..would need to measure the width on new and old.

I am surprised no one has tried to do this yet.

The Carpuride should go on my Four Button OK but of course I cannot lock it.

I'm off to Lillyput on my holidays......I'll pick up a screwdriver set

IT fits a 12mm bar,

but its plastic, so has a degree of flex and you can open the diameter with a file

Santa do you know where I can get a cradle from. I am in Finland and searching and searching. I dont want to spend over 300 bucks for the whole thing from Bohling BMW. Anywhere in UK maybe? Breakers or something?
