The 1150 just managed to keep up with the 1200's(:augie)
I managed to get into top gear today and think that I actually achieved 60mph on one or two occasions. I might achieve mediocrity at his rate!

Ye should have horsed on if the pace was too slow, sorry if we held ye up but we were out for a run tae enjoy the scenery. I should have put that at the beginning of the post so it was understood :(

The first three above were taken outside Robmacks tribal hut whilst acclimatising to the border of Oonyackistan, the remainder half way over the Applecross road.

A couple more

I'm loving this, did yae no notice the whooshing sound Johnnie:blast

Sarcasm, at least English sarcasm seems to be lost on yous.

Don't :thedummy. It was a cracking day, loved it and even managed to scrub in my new tyres, a set of old style Tourances with 8mm of tread. After living in Scotland for almost 23 years I couldn't bare to settle for they new Tourances with only 6mm of tread.

is Aultbea the place wi the hotel wi the great whisky bar? stayed in the area a few times, bikee heaven:thumb2

Crackin run the day, weather was great.
Ah've been oor tae Applecross a few times before but the day was probarbly the best run yet.Good tae pit faces tae names and tae meet some mair tossers. :thumb2
BTW how the hell are ye supposed tae tell these buggers apart.:augie

How the feck did you get back at that time!!!! I was still at Applecross at 7pm glad that I had filled up with the guys last 3 gallons at Gairloch although at £7 a Gallon the wallet was well and trully stung:( I actually would have run out had I not taken this and was running again for 40 miles with the fuel warning light on.....

I turned off right just after I took all your pics going past and headed over to Applecroass which was spectacular as always. I can't think why I went that way though as when I got down to Loch Carron I did a quick route back via Invergarry and that was 205 miles and the sun would soon be down so I went back via Achnasheen to Garve, Inverness towards Nairn then turned off for CAwdar Castle and Grantown on Spey then over to Tomintoul, over the Lecht and home via Ballater and Aboyne. I must admit to being a tad cold when I got home (ten past 10:o) as I only had a t-shirt on under my Jacket and it was baltic going over the Lecht Ski centre.

Anyway heres a few pics from the day, great to meet you all again and many thanks to Big Hearted HRH King Jonny for getting the breakfasts in:thumb2

A quick stop on the A832 heading into Aultbea. I thought I may have missed everyone but there was only Garfield waiting there. The food had finished and I had no petrol:tears time for a swift pint and a packet of crisps.

Garfield had eaten the last of the food and they had stopped serving - you would never know he had just eaten as the pounds are falling off him:augie Although Bob (Popa Chubby - the lead guitarist at GOTC) may just tip the scales. It was great to feel svelt like in all this company:D:D

Anyway Garfield and I decided to get a few shots of the Hotel just to prove we had actually turned up as nobody else had:rolleyes:

Whilst packing away the cameras the drone of bikers could be heard and 4 GS's turned into the Hotel (2 hours late I might add).....

With no food going andf no petrol it was back to Gairloch. The wifey in the BAr had given me the address of a Shop in Gairloch that sold petrol in Canisters as everywhere I had triwed was either closed or had no unleaded.

We bid farewell to Garfield and made a dash for Fuel and food. HRH treated us to an all day full breaky in this wee cafe - Top man

HRH dinae tell her I'll be running quicker than an escaped tom cat from the vets surgery she was waiting for me all concerned about my culinary abstinence and came oot with a muckle big plate o beef casserole unfortunately liberally dosed wi cayenne pepper which reminds me to put the bog rolls in the fridge for the morning so the old haemorrhoid's don't get too excited.

cheers Bob

Well it was gone 5pm so time to head off. I raced ahead to get a few shots and only got a few shots:o I went via Applecross the others via Achnasheen and Loch Carron (which I ended up doing as well;))....you can't waste good weather like this.

I hadn't realised how far it was round to Applecross and the detour must have added 70 mile on my journey. The views were spectacular and looking across the water to Skye was just magic. Applecross was glorious with not a car on it. I realised I would have to take a quicker route home to be sure of finding a fuel stop as well so went via Inverness and the Lecht. I was getting really cold with about 60 miles to go and so the snow in the Cairngoms which look nice until I realisesd I still had to ride over this lot to get home.

All in all an absolutely cracking day out and really pleased I made the effort. Great company and just a reminder of what we have on our doorstep. The West Coast of Scotland is a must for everybiker but be warned to fill up on a Sunday;)

See you all soon

AndyT

It may be - when I asked the landlady if she new anywhere open for fuel she said she would ask in the public bar....... she disapeared and I heard her asking which was met with shreiks of lughter and yelling amongst other things, she came back rather embarassed and said she wasn't getting much sense out of the locals so it may have been the whishy Bar:D

Lucky barstids!!! - never ever in 22 years seen the Highlands in anything but rain and sheep infested snow and rain!!!!! :oonyack:oonyack:oonyack:oonyack
