Menton is lovely, its cemetery has the grave of William Webb who "invented" rugby football. Antibes is proper posh and pretty - an amazing Picasso museum. Lots of little villages etc inland.

All depends on time of year you go. When we went in mid October, it was perfect for us, with temps reaching into high 20s. Warm, sunny and dry. What not to like. Spent a week on the beach, and coddiwompling about the coastal towns, reached easily by a short train ride.

OP don’t listed to negs on here. Just figure out your own itinerary and go explore, you sure will enjoy it, especially as you’ve never been there before.
