IYour Super Ten will also need its brake fluid changed every two years or so as well as fork oil changing, possibly every 12k. Coolant will also need to be changed (probably 2-3 years) so there are also annual requirements for the Super Ten which you need to allow for.
So in other words, Rasher is telling porkies, as per usual
Not really, as the Yamaha have most of this under the mileage based services so the coolant gets done at 24k, brake fluid at 12k etc. (I have not checked schedule so the figures may be different - but if doing 6k per annum the regular services will cover most things for about four years.
If your doing low mileages there is some similarity with the BMW way of doing things, just not as formalised I guess.
There are other maintenance tasks such as greasing steering head bearings and swingarm joints, replacing coolant hoses etc that need doing every 4-5 years, although in my experience few people ever bother, and I would assume this is the same with the BMW's.
