Just a quick note, if anyone has a servo assist iABS bike and you are occasionally plagued with ABS faults (i.e. Gen ON , ABS flashing 1Hz) it could be a simple fault that is easy to fix - well it was with me anyway.
The only complaint with the GS on my recent 2000mile trip to Orkney was the fault described above, one day the bike would be absolutely fault free, the next the abs would be flashing continually no matter how many times it was restarted.
On my return home I decided to see if I could track down the fault, by removing sensors one by one / and trying to find if there was one specific action that would cause it to fault, be it holding the brakes on when starting or disconnecting brake switches etc.
The culprit turned out to be the front wheel abs wire connector plug which sits under the tank quite close to the abs module, when I opened it up it was damp, i dried it off and plugged it back in and no faults since (4 days now instead of two faults every three starts). I think I have worked out where the water is coming from as it doesn't normally make its way down there in normal use. When the bike has been outside in the rain the hand guards fill up with water. If the bike is on the centre stand and you move the handlebars the water gets thrown directly at this connector block - Could be a possibility - No doubt someone will tell me where the water is actually coming from.
Hope it saves someone else from the head scratching and from reading the worrying posts about having to change ABS computer modules at £1100 a go!
