Nippy Norman Hugger works....

After having read many posts I was a bit skeptical as to whether the NN hugger would work or not!? Well, I got the chance to try it yesterday in some very unpleasant weather... I did not get my left(or right) boot covered in mud and rain, I am pleased to say...... I had removed the rear, so called mudguard, which I believe contributes to the wet left leg problem...

It seems strange,that alot of people here seem to find the huggers dont work,iv had a fair few sports and sports tourers,and the huggers always worked a treat.Im about to fit the iimberger jobbie on my 1150gsa its defo going on,i just cant decide if i should take the mud guard thingy off or leave it on...but its good that at least someone here has one that works..

i've got a ilimburger hugger it works fine,still got the mudguard thingie on apart from somewhere to put your g.b. sticker i'm not sure what it is supposed to do???? the no plate still gets plastered and the top box

Thats good news,well il put it on and leave the mudscraper thingy on there and see how things go........

IMO, FWIW..... The rear mud thingy makes the mud/spray aimed directly to your left leg and boot......

That seems to be a problem almost exclusively affecting 1200's and has done so since day-one. I don't think that it's the rear crud-guard as many owners that have ditched it say that they still get treated to the left-leg crap coating.

It's odd that the 11XX's and the 1200's, that don't appear massively different in design, have such different character in this respect.

That is odd...... My R850 didn't even have one of the rear thingys.... I had a hugger on that and it never sprayed muck anywhere....

My 1150 has never had the crud-guard on from day one and it's never sprayed me the way that 1200's do.

My mate had an 1100GS for years without the crud-guard, same result. He recently purchased a 1200GSA and with or without the crud-guard his left leg gets a soaking in the wet. Side panels have reduced it somewhat.

The crud guard stops you spraying the person behind with water or mud, depending on circumstances. Follow a bike with and one without and you'll see the difference.

Ref Nippy Norman Hugger works !!!!
You should try the Mudsling, this can be obtained from NN, I have had one fitted to 1200gsa and it is far better than the conventional shaped huggers, and offers good protection from the wet left leg syndrome.

Does anyone know if the mudslinger thing works if you have a NN hugger fitted as well??
