Anybody fitted these - look like a good price compared to OEM adv winglets???

BTW - just done 3000 trouble free miles through France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark for a fantastic 10 days in Sweden /Norway.... back today on ferry from Kristiansand - no issues, aches or gripes :)

'Winglets'

Why not fit the BMW deflectors as on the Adventure ? Very easy to fit (four 6mm holes) and they do work. £34 a pair I think somebody mentioned.

Nippy supplies a pattern part including fittings, I think about £29.00 ish. They look simular but are bigger than OE.

I saw a set on Madmikey's bike they look good and very effective.

Gona put a pair on mine for the winter :thumb

OO thats novel it's come up twice

effective at what? I can see that in the "winter" there may be some advantage. I have only one 700 mils on the 12 but cant see what they would add, the buffeting on the new bike is a lot less than on the 1150 with a standard screen,

Hip area

I recently fitted some to mine, trying to reduce buffeting for passenger...................seems to send the air round the back of the hip area more than before :thumb :thumb . Still playing with the screen too. :thumb

I'd really like to hear from anyone who has fitted either the BMW or NN winglets.

To stop the buffeting so far, I've gone for a givi screen - huge improvement :thumb , much quiter, but still some buffetting / resonance - e.g. standing up on the footpegs at 70 (with head above the turbulent layer) there is more wind but it is still much much smoother / quieter / less buffeting than sat down behind the screen.

If the screen is fully up (e.g. on long wet motorway journeys) the rain drops fly forward from my helmet to the screen - indicating a bubble of low pressure behind the screen, pulling air into it and making it turbulent.

I've just ordered some tobinators to see if these help, and am thinking I might need to go for winglets too - as well as the buffeting, do they keep any more of the rain / crud off you in bad weather?

Alternatively, might have to chuck it all in and just get an adventure. :nenau

I mounted the BMW ADV winglets on my standard 12GS. I also run a Givi windscreen. The winglets made a definite, but not huge, improvement. Woth the money, in my opinion.

BMW winglets

I fitted the adventure screen and winglets onto my GS 1200.
Thought the screen was much much better but didn't notice much change with / without winglets. Also, they are a bit wobbly when screwed into the plastic, OK on the move but need care when you scrub the dead flies off them.

Cheers all. I think I'll see how much improvement the tobinators make before deciding on the winglets.
