How long was a "few minutes"? It doesn't look as if that was at tickover either. You have read the bit in the handbook about not running the engine for long periods with the bike stationary, haven't you.....? People have been known to melt the oil inspection window that way. The less lucky ones have had the oil piss out all over hot exhaust pipes and.......
Its thin metal pipe attached to a great many explosions which exert huge pressures in a small space what do you expect?
Ride it hard enough and long enough and yer discs will glow too
that looks cool wonder if I could get that as a colour option for mine.
running the bike for a few minutes to charge is actually very bad in the long term, as the gases from combustion process actually cause weak sulphuric acid to be made inside the head and pistons and long term this will *uck the piston and head. Read about it it's called tribology not sure on that spelling but this is a study about the contamination of oil from acids caused during short runs blah blah...
also you'll have pools of moisture which stays in the exhaust system which will again want to rust their way out at the lowest point. Makes the engine sound sweet but won't help much when it comes round to an MOT or selling the bike.
best use a battery charger or get the bike out of the garage make it durty.
Thanks for posting the picture cause it looks like that ferrari picture where they take a block to limit and it's like a X-ray it so hot
That's nowt you should see my 525 pulse orange flashes along the stainless steel header when stationary. It's so bright you can turn the light off in the garage
