We are very lucky and fortunate, I think we will be keeping these a long time.

Thanks for the help and advice so far.

Nice one Steve

I'm sure you'll have miles of smiles on them - I know I am :D

Aye, still have the XT's, so two very different bikes.

Jane says the black one makes her bum look smaller and apparently black ones are faster. ;)

Great pair of bikes! Congrats! :clap

Nice
are they the adventure spec crash bars or ??

Hi, yes they are the Adventure Spec engine bars, did loads of looking comparing, etc and decided on these, though they are not the cheapest.

I have to a BIG plus for A/Spec the bars fitted straight on, the instructions were well written, everything fitted as it should, no pulling and pushing to make them fit.

They are really substantial and come high up the side so should hopefully protect the bike really well.

Sadly can't say the same for the Hepco and Becker pannier frames. Some of the spacers are too big and you can't put the seat back on. :blast
Ringing them tomorrow before I start changing the spacers.

We already had H&B boxes so obviously went with their frames, if starting again we would go with soft luggage.

But loving the 800 GS

Fine pair of bikes. Friend just bought one a Trophy I think. Had a ride on it excellent machine. Tried it 2 up and not quite enough room for Julie and I. Ok over short distance. Had entertained idea of having one instead of GSA. Enjoy your new bikes, excellent machines . Now wheres that lotto ticket.:thumb

Fairly sure if Jane rode pillion then it would have to be a GSA 1200 for us, but as we need two bikes the 800's were a no brainer, I/we couldn't justify afford a 1200 and a 800.

But the 800 are great. :beerjug:

Both having the same bike will make a lot easier when it comes to spares :thumb2

Janes. :)
looks rather nice. i have to say when I had mine it was a good bike, but I HATED the seat. i think I managed 50 or 60 miles before i had to get off for a walk round and get some circulation back. As others have said , I hope you have (both of you) many miles and many smiles.

Managed a bit more than 50/60 miles but new seats are a must once more funds are available. Tony Archer from Huddersfield will be receiving a call.

"When I had mine", have you moved on ?

er yes somewhat. Since the 800 went i have had:
Single cylinder F650 BMW Funduro
Kawasaki ZX7R
Yamaha TDM 850
Triumph Tiger 900
F650 twin
Yamaha FJR 1300
BMW R1100RT.

Back in the dim and distant past I also had a 60 plate 1200GS, sold it (with about 1200 miles on it!!!!) to raise some capital for a busines venture in Cyprus. Oh and almost forgot:

another 800, 2 more 1200GS'es (one with a plate with LWD or LWR in!!! and a K1300GT SE which was a vibratey pile of shit......

Oh and a Honda 90 which rattled like a bag of spanners, but never ever let me down or failed to start even though it lived outside un chained and never even got nicked......

So NO not many bikes really.:eek:eek:drool:toungincheek
