Fitted a complete set of lights today to a GSA and encountered my first real problem?
To be fair it was nothing to do with me, but I tried without sucess to solve it.
The main beam did not work, so it was "assumed" that the bulb had blown. However a new bulb was fitted and still nothing
I was then told that it had blown a number of 'main' bulbs over short period of time.....how odd?
Next step was to take the main beam/flash apart and check for corrosion or shorting etc, but I was unable to get at the contacts inside switch.
The only thing I did establish was that there was no live feed to the switch.
The horn and hazard switch worked OK, but both these are earth triggered I believe.
Removed the tank and traced loom to block connector, but still no live feed? After that the cables are all in the main loom so unable to trace as to where they go to.
The only fuse in the fuse box that is remotely connected to the lights is the 4amp side/tail light fuse and this was ok.
In the end, time was running out so it all had to be all reassembled and thus taken back to the BMW dealer next week to be fixed under warranty.
But I am more than a bit pissed of that I could not fix it, does anyone have a wiring diagram I can have a look at please?
Or can anyone tell me where the feed is taken from for the main beam circuit?
Thanks
Alan
