No y-piece possible on R1200GS?

I can attest to that.. The cat is combined with the headers, and I have a Remus system that elimiates the cat from the headers by replacing them. The Remus headers have 2 holes for the Lambda sensors. The pressure valve in the BMW cannister has been deleted. Black tipped silencers had it, the later models with silver tipped silencers do not have it.

To unweight bike (get rid of the cat) i have to change all exhaust system????
What is the "pressure valve in the BMW cannister" ?

Fortunately i found in Poland company which is doing very good systems... ;)
Waiting for answers about prices?
Anyone wants?

Are you sure? The header pipes weren't that expensive if I remember correctly. and to have a Y-piece made specially, and ruin your original pipe in the way... sounds like a bad and expensive idea to me.. :P

No I'm not sure :)

But, to have a simple 3 way jobbie made from stainless steel can be more than a couple of hundred quid, surely? And if it all works ok, the fact that the original headers are no longer complete won't matter. Got to be cheaper than the £1000 that Akraprovich (or whatever they're called) are asking for their replacement system.

If I ever modify my exhaust (and it's not something I'm keen on - I hate over loud bikes) I think this is the route I'd take.

Another potential benefit, is that if you had seperate headers, y piece and can, you can replace any of them individually (and thus more cheaply) in the event of a bump. I've already got a couple of small dings in my header pipes and cat ... through carelessness :D

BOS are selling the "front" for £375 and full system for £550 - surely nowhere near the Akrapornvic prices...

Well, if you find someone who can chop up the OEM zorst, replace the cat with a smooth "y-piece" for less than £200, I'm pretty sure I'll sign up if the power increase is worth it. But as you're not keen on it, I guess this discussion is purely academic ;) :D

Aaah... well, I hope you'll post pictures when the pipes are ready! :) I believe the 10.2kg is including the cat as it's moulded into the exhaust.

Wollaston BWM are selling the Boss system and have it obn their demo bike so shouldnt cause probs with warranty.
