After plenty of searches I have failed to find an answer (assume looking right places of course..). My problem is when I touch the rear brake I get a slight buzzing / hum noise - almost electrical in sound - this is before brakes actually do their thing. The brakes work fine. The bike is R1150GS 2002 and pretty sure non servo / has ABS and sound doesn't change whether ABS on or not.

Appreciate any advices.. I don't think it's a major problem just slightly annoying. Have trip planned end of the month so want to sort it out and not finish up stranded out west..

Cheers

What happens when you take the pads out, check them for wear, clean it all up and make sure the pads can slide on the retaining pin?.

will check pads on weekend but I don't think pads are the issue as the noise is just as brake pedal is touched and I think this is before pads hit the disks (very little pressure on the pedal)..

problem has gone, new battery may have helped?? but did have brake light stuck on, gave the switch bit of a tweek and all good, did 300km run on Sat just to make sure, had 200km tar and 100km dirt, bit concerned with the pillon hanging on, but had no real problems up front - few scary moments to keep the heart pumping but great fun.. 5 day camp run end of month to look foward too...
