Just been in to Hein Gericke and looked the Nolan full face flip thingy helmet. £139.99. Any one had any experience with one? Apparently the police bikers use them.
My N100E (current model is 102 which has few modifications but very much the same) has been examplary one - served me more than 80,000km till lived through a serious crash. It only needed a replacement of upper seal around 60Kkm, it wore out and let some raindrops through driving on very dense rain. But it stayed mechanically sound and inner fitting the same size till the end...
It had seen from cold Estonian winter driving till august month in the middle of Iranian desert w/o any cold/hot or breathing problems.
Other than that - top stuff and very high value for money flip-up helmet imho compared with Schuberth, BMW, Arai etc expensive ones that wore out the same quicky - there's just many threads about how crap the Schuberth C1 and C2 can be waring out too quickly (the seals) and they cost alot more money indeed...
I've just changed my X-Lite X1001 after 6 years of almost daily use. Replaced it with a Nolan N101, basically the same helmet but now has one-handed flip operation & a removeable liner. I like the way the flip operates on a compound pivot point so when raised it sits close to the top of the helmet, not out in front like a lot of flip fronts. I also like the pinlock anti-mist system. Everybody's different, but its the most comfortable lid I've ever worn.
I have the N101 and it's a fantastic helmet for the price. It does seem to be a bit noisy at speed but I guess that can be a problem with all flip front helmets.
The only problem I have with it is the lining. It has funny ridges in it and it moulds my hair into the same shape, so everyone at work laughs at me in the morning!!!
