Thinking about getting them for me and for better half.

Been using older model N100 so far, did good 80,000km and 4 years, mechanically sound after the crash so still using them, but sure it's better to replace them with new ones.

Anyone have experiences with Nolan N102?

Lazer Granville is another option for budget?

Thanks in advance, Margus :beerjug:

I bought a N102 about 3 months ago and am very pleased with it, first flip helmet and it is great. Comfortable for me, but everyone is different.
Comes with anti fog system that works and the external extra tinted visor is great to keep out the glare. Fitted my autocom with no problems at all, very easily done. Very good mechanism for fliiping up, done with one hand and back down again with ease. :thumb
It is a large helmet and i had difficulty fitting it into my ADV Ali pannier, did go in just but have to do it the right way.
I would say it is good value for money

My friend bought the Caberg helmet that has got like a pilots tinted visor mechanism which is inside so this enables him to ride with the tinted visor down but the flip up, if that makes sense. I know it is not recommended. Good idea but i suppose i can wear shades.

Put my last pennies together and ordered two 102s for me and better half last week. Will let ya know how good they are or aren't. I really liked the older N100 model and they're still making it as well for the Police.

I've just bought one of these as a second lid to my Arai Tour-x,sadly I am "between bikes" at the moment so I can't give you my verdict,I've never used a flip front before but I was drawn to this because of it's many clever features including the ability to add a Bluetooth kit and the fact that I got it at half price from a mate :thumb
I'm hoping that this lid will prove to be the quieter and more comfortable option to the Tour-X for long rides-must be getting old

I haven't been able to resist "tarting it up" though

are the bluetooth kits available for these nolans yet ?

Yep, they are.

200EUR for BT bit plus 50EUR for the basic kit (headphones and mic) - then you have BT options like mobile phone, GPS etc. You need those 250x2=500EUR if wanna wireless intercom with passanger with the same helmet, like me. So 1 set cost exacly the same as 1 helmet. A bit too much for me...

Me buying them later, maybe next year if the outrageous prices of Blue Teeth have cut down like the current trend is coz lot of manufacturers starting to rival each other in BT stuff in the helmets :mmmm There's wire-intercom option availabe for it too, 130EUR per device + basic kit, but me had bad experiences with wired intercoms.

So far me likey the helmet - considerably more silent than the older model was, and better venting :thumb

Me don't get it - i've done it ten times, no slack, no bad fixing or what so ever, all works perfectly as should :nenau

I know they stopped making N101 very soon after the release, maybe due that fault you specified?

Also they continue selling N100, that i also had and worked flawlessly for years and over 80 000kms.

So maybe the N101 did have some strange stuff, since it's nolonger for sale?

Tried one on in Hein Gericke at Chester the other day as a replacement for my System 5, which hurts my forehead after half an hour. Really liked the look and spec of the Nolan, but it didn't fit me well. The guy asked what was wrong with the system 5 (leaves a big stripe on my forehead, which isn't comfortable) and suggested how to cure it. This involved gently compressing the very edge of the polystyrene to make less of a "sharp" corner where it meets my bonce. Much better!

Yep!
I also had a 100 for almost 10 years. Worked great and felt safe.
I knew that it was long due for replacement when I looked at the 101 and the 100 E.
I immediately noticed the "flaw" with the 101, and had a long brawl with the swedish agent for Nolan (Grahns).
The BS they tried to feed me only made them loose another customer...
I ended up buying an Airoh. Quite good helmet, but I´m not totally pleased with the fit. I might give Nolan a second chance with the 102...

Hi Ive got an N com with speakers and mic with wired connections for phone and DAB works great phone very clear.

I bought the Nolan N102 about 3 months ago, at first I found the helmet great and fiited my comes with no problems.

After a couple of weeks I relized the visor was fogging up between the pin lock inner viser. (bit like faulty double glazing) I took it back and was replaced. I thought nothing more of it, even so my other half bought the same helmet 2 days later.
another couple ofweek past and the same thing happend again. Took it back to Hein gerick. They was totaly cluless as to why this was happening and gave me the 5th degree into how i was looking after it. Its was replaced again! well after another week or so and it happens again and to make things worse my other halfs then tells me hers has been doing it for the past week as well. Took both helmets back and then told me they only had one replacment visor in. I suggested to them that I would like to reject the helmet on the grounds as its not fit fr the purpose for sale. They phoned head office and they intructed them to change mine one last time :spitfire :spitfire :spitfire I opted to have my other halfs changed as she uses her bike for work. I opted to wait for new visor to come in stock. This was 2 and half weeks ago :spitfire
Im going down there tomorow to start world war 3.

To make another complaint! I have also had problems with the flip front not locking fully everytime. So if you have on make sure its fully locked before driving off!

will update you all after I have been to Hein Gerick tomorrow

Hmmmmmm....

No visor foggin for me and i've done lot of such condition riding by now. I never tightened the anti-fog layer tho, left as it was.

I agree, i hate the pin-lock like systems. They're useless in long term - the surfaces start to scratch each other as the dust goes between them, only matter of time.

Gonna wore out the stock visor with the pin-lock antifog to see how much it lasts compared to my old N100E and put the new visor on with the proper glue-on antifog from Fog City that lasted forever on ma N100E as well - no scratches, no fog what so ever :thumb

Not sure about the VPS "sunglass" system yet it has. I really like it (can use helmet's same visor for night and day riding), but let's see how is it long term (i have a doubt it starts to scratch the visor in long term as well from the outside, same way as the stupid pin-lock does from inside). I do lot of gravel road is my problem - no two moving surfaces do me good as the gravel dust goes absolutely everywhere you can imagine :D

No lid fixing probs yet as well for me.

Cheers, Margus :beerjug:
