Nomadic Knights-Himalayas Roof of India

Anyone got the live tracker to work?
Still shows them in Kathmandu from the last Everest trip
Yeah, was wondering exactly the same thing. No updates since Feb. I messaged Alex to ask, not sure if he will get the message though.

Fantastic looking trip!! Been watching That Biker Simons series, just amazing altogether. Curious as to how you would choose which adventure to do between the Roof of India Vs Rode to Everest. :thumby:
Looking at all the information, I come to the conclusion that the Rode to Everest is the somewhat more tourist version. There are many more rest days, more sight-seeing with much less riding days. I chose the Roof of India because I wanted to take the most 'adventure' ride I could get.

Thanks TH currently watching both trips back to back and the Roof of India is definitely the more appealing looking trip :thumby:

I asked Alex directly about the two trips before booking
From his email back to me ……

Thanks for getting in touch, it’s good to hear from you.

You’re absolutely correct, they’re both tremendous rides.

As you’ve asked, I’ll give you a simple honest answer.

The Roof Of India will give you a much more challenging ride and is more varied. If you’re planning only one trip of a lifetime, this is the one. You’ll love it, it’s amazing. I’ll be there with you, riding every km.

The Rode To Everest is more about the destination and the Roof Of India is about the journey. The Rode To Everest costs more as we operate across 3 countries and incur additional taxes and logistics.”

I took him at his word
👍

I haven't follow up on this thread in a while.
I'm now gearing up to on this trip regardless. Even with the planned route and the govt warnings, I genuinely think that the route is safe enough. I got a message from Alex that said he is planning to alter the route to not go through Kahmir anyway. His general feedback is that the route (whilst safe) was much more of a PITA right now, with unnecessary delays. So is planning on something else. There is one more trip between now and then, I guess that will reveal all. Also mentions the GPS was not working and he fixed that. So we should see real-time route information from now on.

I guess @JonnyBravo we will see you in August? ;-)

Yes Sir - yes you will !

A month to go before heading over to India 👍
I arrive in the Chandigarh Hotel on the thursday night

I should be on a flight to India tomorrow night to start the trip Saturday.

I have messaged Alex at Nomadic to say I won’t be there.
Unfortunately, my teenage son has been in hospital for the last 10 days after the NHS 111 sent us Saturday night to A&E and then subsequent emergency surgeries.
He has just had to go back into intensive care but is making progress
👍

Was so hoping he would be ok by now and I could still make the trip but this is clearly one of life’s kick in the nuts moments, for both my son and me.
Can’t possibly leave him at the moment.
The big positive is the lad is slowly getting better.

Chin up and try again June 2026 are my thoughts from a very uncomfortable plastic bedside chair!

If you have bought Travel insurance, you might well be able to recover some costs.

That's a bummer for you and the lad.

Stick in a claim for those too. I would. They can only say no and won’t be offended.

Boy is home now too from the hospital - long road ahead to recovery but today is a great day.
My son is home and I have booked a motorcycle adventure !
😀
