Nice to see so many Gsers at the Cat and Fiddle tonight. Talked about a Sunday run up to the pennine/lakes area. Have a route approx 225 miles about 6hrs with stops etc. Anyone intrested before the weather turns. Ether this Sunday (21st) or next (28th) last two Sundays in Aug, where did the summer go. Can meet up at the Shell station on Chester Rd, opposite side of the M6 junction 19 to the Little Thief at 9am and back about 4ish.

Great route

Ted ,

The route you showed me last night looks really good. Daz and Malcolm are up for it and there were a couple of other interested parties too.

This weekend is a bit short notice possibly so why dont you just set the date for the following Sunday and we'll see who can make it?

Pennine Trip

Thanks Rushy got the PM. How about meeting at the Shell garage for a 9.00am start on Sunday 28th Aug. Any one intrested?

Here is a suggested route Approx 225 miles

Up the M6 to J34 on to A683 through the Yorkshire Dales Nat Park to Appleby in Westmorland, then off over Orton Scar for a stop at the chocolate factory. On then to Tebay and (A685) to go past Kendal, through Lancaster to Glasson dock, then back down M6 (J33) and home.
Sorry no fords (or Vauxhalls for that matter) or off road stuff, just decent A and B roads with the occasional narrowish country road. Should take approx 6 hours with stops for tea and load up with chocolate. Only down side its the BANK HOLIDAY weekend so could be busy every where especially on M/Way and the Kendal, Lancaster, Glasson leg. We can just see how it goes.
What do think.....

Watch out for police around Devils Bridge & Shap. It'll probably be heavily policed on b/holiday w/end.

Peaks ride

Hi Ted, as i said on Tuesday the route you've drawn up for the Peaks looks good and i'd like to come along. However as Rushy and a few others know, i work late at the weekends and getting to junction 19 for 9 oclock isn't going to be possible for me.
Anyway i hope there,s a good turnout and you all have a nice day. :moped:

Regards, Daz. :thumb

Under pressure

Sorry Ted.

Cant make the ride out this weekend. Under pressure to complete a major decorating project. Will need 2 to 3 days. Been putting it off for some time now but the better half says it needs to be done.

Next time........

Pennine Run

Sorry you can`t make it on Sunday Rushy. How many still fancy the run? Can re schedual it for a later date/time, then Daz can come along. As a non working (redundant) GSer can go any time.
Although judging by some of the job intervews I`v had, at my age I am due to fall over my zimmer frame and die at any moment. :D So don`t leave it to long ;)

Anyone going

:type I will be at the garage (Shell) on the Chester road A556, not the one next to the Little Chef but on the otherside of the roundabout J19 M6. This gives access to north bound M6 without going back to Mere Golf club to turn round. Should be there for 8.45am will hang on for half an hour if anyone wants to join me for the run out. If any one from further north wants to meet up let me know. Can arrange to meet up at what used to be called Forton services near Lancaster about 10ish. If not I will see you at the next meeting. Broughton????????? :thumb

Another Try

Going to try the run out again this Sunday, the weather looks good (better than last weekends wash out). Later start 10.30, ok for you Daz. Just post if you want to come along.. :thumb
