My usual biking buddies have other commitments this weekend but I suspect it’s because they think I’m becoming a complete Tosser
. Anyway I’m riding my favorite route tomorrow & any other Tossers are welcome to join me.
I call this the 4 Lakes. Starting at the Ponderosa (Llangollen) at 9am for breakfast, down to Bala then its single lane black top over the top to Lake Celyn, onwards to Ffestiniog & down to Lake Trawsfynydd. Ignoring the Police/sportsbike infested road to Dolgellau I head over to the Southern tip of Bala & on to Lake Vyrnwy. Stop for a brew at the café below the dam & back round the lake & through the forests over to Rhosygwalia where the route joins the Tanit valley road. I head back via Oswestry, Whitchurch & Tarporley but by then the funs over & I normally stop for another brew (& cake
) in Beeston.
I’m sure many of you will know parts or all of this route. It’s more of a Sunday bimble than a drag race, I get as much pleasure from the stunning scenery (worth bringing a camera) as I do from the riding. It’s fine for anyone running road tyres, a good proportion of the roads are single lane tarmac with some cattle grids & a few gates. I don’t hang about on the brief time spent on A roads but with the notorious North Wales Police presence one can’t take the p#ss
. All in all it’s a great route & perfect GS territory.
If anyone’s interested let me know.
