North York Moors green lanes - Easter weekend?

Andy, I'm good for Monday-will be too hungover on Friday as it's the last day of college for two weeks! I'm looking forward to seeing that bike:bounce1.

Nige, will you be taking your 450 as well?

I'll be on trusty old Red again... I took the 800 out once a couple of weeks ago but need proper tyres before I do it again... Well, that's my excuse anyway!:augie

See y'all Monday...

So, I'm definitely going out to play Friday and Monday.

Friday 2nd April - meet to suit those going - I know JB and HullTraily (if either/both are going) know a huge amount more than I do about the lanes, I can find my way from Pickering to the usual routes so unless anyone else has any suggestions then I'll be in Pickering for 9.30.

Monday 5th April definitely Pickering 9.30 Greystones Cafe to leave by 10.00.

I'll see you there on Friday, Andy. Not sure about Monday yet but hoping to get again then too.

I want to go, but am on a bog standard 800 also.....will it be good enough, I don't want to slide around everywhere in the mud and drop it.....and it's new, so I don't mind getting it covered in shite, but i will cry like a wet girl if i get dents and scratches.

Advice chaps.

After dropping my Adventure more times than I can count I've decided these bikes look far better with dents and scratches :rob

Seriously though there may be a few muddy stretches that you'd need to be gentle through though most of what I'm thinking of is fairly stoney stuff. I was going to take a recce today at some of the bits I was thinking of with the Adventure but that decided to have an alternator failure 10 minutes after I left home :blast so is now booked in for some warranty work. I'm happy to compromise on where I go as I just want to go out and play!

Are you thinking tomorrow or Monday?

Was thinking tomorrow really. And am up for a play....but I am a wuss and I don't want to get my pretty bike in a mess. I agree they look better with dents....as long as it's not mine.:beerjug:

Well come out tomorrow (which will be the quieter day I think) and we'll play it by ear. What tyres have you got on at the moment?

By the way I've not put any dents or scratches in my G450 yet so I'll also be trying to avoid falling over for as long as possible!

Yeah but you have the tyres to stay upright.....just got the standard ones that came with it.

Yeah but what are they? Pure road tyres or Tourance or similar 'trail'-type tyres? I ask because most of the stuff I'm thinking of should be OK with trail tyres as they're stoney/rocky tracks. I do understand if you don't want to risk it though.

Me n D6 are looking for some durt ridin on the enduros saturday.
Anyone doin sat?
Maybe camp ova till sun.

Any good diggs or sites to camp over in over North Yorkshire moors way?

They are scorpion trail...????? That's what's written on them.

Pirelli said:
Innovative tread design: a long pitch design allows to embed in one tyre different section to perform on road as well as off road
Exceptional wet and dry grip, thanks to tread design and grooves distribution and geometry

So it depends on whether you believe Pirelli or not as to whether they're OK offroad. They'll probably be no good in mud but like Tourances be ok on dirt roads.

Might just give it a go.....are you greystone in pick your ring at 0930.

You planning on the whole day, I was intending getting back for 1ish....Christ I'm not sure what gear I have anymore, so unorganised it's unreal.

Cheers Andy, I thought I knew all the lanes round there so thanks for pointing out some new ones. Hopefully I'll dry out some time soon ;)
