It rained heavy last night so this morning I took a ride over the route to see what the "off road" sections are like when wet. It's nearly all gravel tracks so it really made no difference apart from more water in some of the puddles. I had Tourances on and made a point of riding through every one at speed without problem. The off road sections are suitable for those with little or no experience and nobody will be expected to undertake anything they are not happy with. The aim of Sunday is a nice steady run at a sedate pace and I am sure there will be plenty of people to offer advice or assistance if needed. There will also be plenty of stops along the route. The "steps" which have been referred to are a short steep section of loose and large rocks however, they are at the point where we turn round so those who want to try can, and anyone who doesn't may just watch them falling off

By lunch time the sun came out and this is what it looked like.....

Good point Ally... but I dont intend doing anything thats going to be too challenging... as it would be really upsetting if I did damage the bike...

very sensible... but I'm afraid I just cant resist it.... having just done my course...

I think I'll be joining you guys as well if that's alright. Had my 1150Gs just over a year now and have started 'playing' offroad locally in the last couple of months. Had some fun but would love to go a bit further afield with some great views. After the miserable day today it will be good to get out and about tomorrow. Got Tourances with about a thou or so left so may be 'interesting' in places but I probably won't be the only one.

So, hope to meet up with you all tomo', if I'm a little late then where can I catch you up?....could someone maybe post a route? Thanks.

I'm not gona make it down got the PWR next weekend then i've got weekend in Wales its just a trip to many this month .If your having another next month count me in Enjoy yourselves

We leave Thirsk at 9am and will be in Helmsley around 10:30. The next section is mainly off road along Rudland Rigg and I guess we will make the pub, the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge, around 12:30 - 13:00. After that it's non stop all the way to the seaside (Sandsend) on a mixture of minor roads and off road sections.

Best haul yourself out of bed early and be there for 9am
