Is... gods own country.
Stunning empty roads, good weather (eh...) lots of interesting history, good beer and grub and beautiful women (I brought my own
).
Jump off point after leaving the soaking M6 was the little village of Greenhead on the B6318. Sorry no pics as to busy drying out.
Next morning was nice weather so we headed off to look at Hadrian's Wall.
Nice ears...
After visiting a couple of the Roman Forts and Museums we headed for the coast along the looping B6341. Mad road unless you have a torso like zebadee.
Bamburgh Castle almost obscured by a fat German.
Stayed the night at Seahouses.
At this place.
They had a room in a side annexe... Which turned out to be the local Chinese.
No room for a lard arse.
But a nice view of the Farne Islands.
We walked along the beach to get a better view of Bamburgh Castle.
Rained a bit on the way back so nice rainbow(s) over Seahouses.
We strolled around the harbour.
And then popped into a local for a few of these.
The Olde Ship was great.
After fish & chips at the Pinnacle (Hairy Bikers fav chippy) we saw the lifeboat return. Just a training exercise.
By the morning we had really got the hang of these Cantonese capers...
A little spin up the road brought us to Lindisfarne Holy Island.
Not to many tourists about.
This house was opposite the local church...

We nipped over the Scottish border and spent the night in Jedburgh. The local (ruined) Abbey was very picturesque.
The next day is was back along the border and we headed for Kielder.
The forest road.
Last stop before heading south again.
Spent our last night in Yorkshire. More God's country.
Stayed at Leyburn.
They gave us the Hepburn room. All the rooms had a theme which was a nice touch. We watched 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' with a bottle of wine and as it was my birthday I tried to snog Audrey.
Lovely day for the ride back to Essex.
We went via some great biking roads...
Thanks for looking.
