Norton 2004 Problem - Help

Hi Guys,

I've got a client who's Norton Internet Sercurity won't live update keeps getting error message LU 1803 tried all the Norton stuff got nowhere bloody thing!

Any boddy been there fixed that...

I believe 2003 AV and 2004 AV can have the same problem

Uninstall it then reboot.

Reinstall it and live update will probably work

Sounds like he has an infected program a worm of some kind. Try Grisoft too.

Nope

You can't unistall it because live update is running and I've been all through the services stopped the lot and you still can't unistall it.

Lots of stuff on the web but so many different answers thats why I was looking for someone who has been there and done that it you know what I mean.

Tried rebooting into safe mode then uninstalling it???

None of the update things should be loaded if you try it that way.

Have you tried Symantec's advice (worked for me when I had similar problem)...http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...e=english&module=LU&error=1803&build=Symantec


I found the solution that says delete the settings file works....

search for *settings.liveupdate

Delete it and then rerun live update.

Been there, fixed that.

You can dig in Symantec site and find the instructions to fix. As said in earlier post, you need to delete some saved settings and then download the latest version of LiveUpdate and install that.

It worked for me. Norton AntiVirus Pro 2004. You will find the latest version of lusetup.exe here:- http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/lu/lu.html
