Have suddenly started getting antivirus messages telling me i have a virus or two.

I keep getting the same warnings. One is securityRisk.downldr and the other is trojan.lowzones. :mcgun

I've scanned with at least three other scanners and they come up nothing.

Any help would be appreciated before i go mad. :(

Read these and can't seem to get anywhere.

Also can't run live update , will not connect to the site and collect it.
Also cannot get into any links on the symatec site,it tells me the page is unavailable.
Am now getting the virus alerts every 3-4 minutes and am ready to throw the computer out of the window.

You could try downloading AVG instead - it's free, or at least, the free edition is free (duh). Unlike a lot of other software, the free edition isn't crippled in any way, and doesn't blast a load of adverts at you; it just gets on and protects your PC. It's the one I use (which may not count for much, but it does show I'm not recommending stuff I wouldn't touch with a bargepole).

Site is http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

Scroll down to the bottom - it's not the Trial version you want, which is a trial of the pro edition, but the free edition. At the time of writing, the link is avg70free_344a618.exe underneath "AVG Free Edition installation files".

If you're using Windows, disable System Restore and do a virus scan. SR files are protected from everything, so the virus will keep "reappearing".
