Not an easy bike to clean!!

Honestly, you guys have too much time on your hands. The amount of time you seem to spend on cleaning them and the care taken is just nuts. As for using hot air to dry them off, removing a pile of bits....the words anally retentive spring to mind. Surprised you actually ride your bikes....you must be worried about getting them dirty when you do and fret severely over the forecast hoping it won't rain. FFS - get a grip guys !

If one must, just use a compressor and air gun..........at least a compressor has 'other' uses

I've always been cleaning obsessed but I do ride it. I commute 50 miles a day from Beaconsfield to Waterloo and it's no easy journey with proxy London buses trying to kill you at every junction

My avatar shows where I have been but I like to keep them in tip top condition.

I've just invested just shy of £18k so I'm hardly going to trash it and watch it rot in front of me

Each to their own but I'm glad I'm not the analy retentive detailing freak on here

Agreed. I'll ride mine in all weather, but will make sure I clean it properly when it needs it. I wouldn't go as far as the other chap, and start removing panels though.

He's cleaning an RT though so is the only way to do it properly good opportunity to check under those panels for any corrosion. I use mine all year round to, bu that is no reason not to indultge my cleaning OCD and make sure it's immaculate. Decent prep and waxing sealing means it's even easier to clean further down the line.

I use mine as it was made for, germany in may and ive done a 4k trip last wk, there ain't no excuse for a shitty bike.

One day sunny the nxt horrendous .

But i still clean it properly and it looks like its just rolled out the showroom.

The thing is I actually enjoy cleaning stuff. Especially bikes and cars

A close look over after every clean helps you spot potential problems. My previous 1200GSA had a good clean before my Morocco trip last year and I spotted the rear ESA weeping it was replaced under warranty 1 week before a 3000 mile trip. Had I not noticed it, it would have been a holiday wrecker

Everyone has their little quirks and mine is keeping my "expensive" purchases looking like new for as long as possible

Well I've invested a lot of my hard earned into a bike I enjoy riding. I've not "invested" to make money I know it will only be worth £8k in four years time but I don't care about that. What I do care about is looking after things I have worked fuckin hard to buy

I see you use yours off-road and I watched your videos and much respect as you are a far better rider than I for what you did

But I do not just rinse salt off, I'm an amateur detailer so if I'm going to clean something it's going to be done well and I enjoy doing it
