OK, so not techincally new any more, but thought I'd better post an update with regards to this post....

Thank you UKGSERs.... You were right, and after buying the right mods, the bike is everything I'd hoped for.
I've never been so wrong about a bike before, from getting off it after the first long ride and thinking "OMG, what have I done, should have bought a *!*!", to now having the probably the best all round bike I've ever owned (after some key mods).
The only problem is....... I now think I want a 1200!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to everyone for the advice, and especially thanks to all the sellers who have provided the parts I was after at great prices.
This site has been invaluable, (in fact without it, I'd have sold the bike within days) and the community as helpful as anyone I've come across in 20 years of biking.
Hopefully I'll meet some of you in person in the not too distant future.
