November 7th regulay Hants / Surrey rideout

how far is the ride...dont want to have to do too much road miles on my CRF450X
i may be able to get a pass out too...

It's over 70 miles { just looking at adding a new section we have discovered} and after about 40 we end up in Alton for fuel / food, there are a few road sections but minimal really. CRF will cope fine with these.

I will be on a ktm 950, not quite a GS1200, i am sure we can give the 250 boys a run for their money :thumb

I hope we are not going to see any excessive wheeling from you now you out the front are we Dave?!:augie:hide

well, I've been practicing and can get it up in 3rd, that's probably whats destroyed my chain and head bearings...a price worth paying...!

Hi, water lane is not included in the route.

Gents, how much of this route could be done on a road tyre shod 1200gs. im tempted to come along if its doable, or alternatively meet you nutters somewhere mildly less intimidating....... GO on gissa go mister!!!!!!!!
:hide:hide:hide:hide:hide
could always send me a PM now that it appears to be working if you dont wish to embarrass yourself with a public reply in here LOL.

P.S. I'm not very good off road so thats why I'm asking....

road tyres

Sorry, but 12 is the maximun, road tyres are not an option, you will struggle too much....
Dave

if anyone is heading down from Wokingham way let me know if you want to meet and ride down to Old Basing together...i will fill up in Hook to prior to getting to the pub carpark...

Been out this morning on the lanes around hook, greywell and the likes. Road tyres would get to far, the lanes are pretty muddy, i needed to use the ratchet strap couple of times to rescue my beastie as i was out on my own. Looking forward to next sunday, should be a larf..:D

slippery when wet

we've just got home from the first part of next weeks course and GetaWiggleon came off twice.....it's soooo slippy on the first 2 sections, but my new tyres performed very well and we have added a couple of lanes to make the road sections shorter.
The longest road section is from the starting point to the first lane, but at least we end the day only 30 seconds from the Hatch car park.

i was tempted going out today too...but went on the mountain bike instead...
i was out last weekend and it was muddy than too....

i look forward to meeting you guys next sunday..now i am off all week with work to Milan & Frankfurt...(checking out some new toys...:thumb2)
