Honda seem to have form for releasing large heavy bikes that nobody really seems to buy, Varadero, Crosstourer, Crossrunner, NT1100 etc
Yet the pan sold well as did the deauville which was heavy for a 650. I’m not sure if the NT could be classed as heavy but it seems to sell well. Honda seem sometimes to miss. Vfr 1200 tank too small. I think that held back sales. JJHHonda seem to have form for releasing large heavy bikes that nobody really seems to buy, Varadero, Crosstourer, Crossrunner, NT1100 etc
I had a Parade round too. Toured Europe a couple of times on it, 2 up, full luggage. GPS logged us at 96mph on the autobahn. That's exciting enough for me!The Varadero sold well here, I had 2 of them, brilliant bikes
Had a Crosstourer DCT too, they are generally overlooked, maybe due to the styling, a bit like the NT1100 which is certainly a great bike but just looks bland

Our market has been panned by legislation and barriers to stop the young becoming interested; there is'nt the numbers anymore compared to European youth. You do know that Honda is global....that there are dozens of far bigger markets for bikes than the UK?
The Varadero sold for 15yrs....someone must have been buying 'em.
(The UK has 5k Hondas for sale on Autotrader, MCN has 1700 hondas for sale....the big sales platform for vehicles in France has 27k Hondas for sale.....(Germany has 26k and Spain has 46k))
Pretty sure very similar legislation exists here in France for A1/A2 etc...but I wasn't getting into the whys and wherefors of buying bikes...just that the previous poster had a somewhat blinkered view of a global brand and Britains bikers place in that branding....Our market has been panned by legislation and barriers to stop the young becoming interested; there is'nt the numbers anymore compared to European youth.
The ECU died on mine because of a fault in the loom. It was uneconomical to repair at dealer prices. Part exed it for the NT which is a bit lighter but carries its weight lower. I'm 75, so that difference matters! But I loved that bike, its motor was a thing of beauty.I have a 2013 Varadero and love it now i removed all the crap and changed the exhausts to take a fair bit of top end weight off of it. I nearly sold it earlier in the year, but im happy i did'nt, and removing all that weight has made it a better bike for me.
The weight of the Varadero is the same as my 1250RT, but the RT weight is low down.
