Hi all

I need some new nuts and bolts

M6 x 25 and M6 x 40 plus some nuts washers etc.

Asked in Clarkes BMW and a single bolt was £1.25 ish. Wanted to get a few spares for my travels but anyone know of a cheaper source for fixing of the same standard.

Regards
Peter

Thanks of the info. I got a 12 assorted M6 stainless steal machine screws plus lock nuts and some washers all for £6

It was so cheap compared to BM I got a few spares.

I've been gradually replacing various fixings on my 12GS for the stainless items, disc bolts, plastic rocker cover protector, handguards, heel plate, screen, and front abs sensor screws all replaced. I shall start on the engine next!

I'd go carefull on using stainless steal machine screws to replace non stainless screws as stainless steal is not as strong as other types of heat treated steal.

Safe to use anywhere except the shock absorber mounting bolts. I even sell the brake caliper mounting bolts inmy 1150 kits, and have used stainless for over 20 years on all my biles without any problems.

Agree with Steptoe, shock mounting bolts are under severe variation of 'shear' stress.
