Nuvi 200W map updates question

The old boy opposite us bought a Nuvi 200 with preloaded maps of the UK only. He went to Halfords to see if he could get maps updated - they told him to go to garmin.com. I had a look for him and as far as I can tell he will have to pay £70+ and then the only maps available are for thre whole of Europe..... am I right? ta.
