Come on then....... let's have the definitive list of things to see and do then!

Me, wifey and the kids are heading up there sunday for a week so I need some ideas please.

Gonna be in the car

Where are the hidden gems to be found. Don't mind a bit of a drive to get to them either.

Get the ferry to mull. Drive to Glen Coe, Fort bill, climb the hill at the back of oban for a tremendous view.

If you like views drive down to auchindrain take hard left and take the forestry road over to Loch awe. There are 2 stunning viewpoints at 4000ft. Forestry road is usual unfinished but good nick. I did it 2 weeks ago on a mountain bike.

Oh and still on the views. It's a bit of a drive from oban but Applecross for a big day out. Last 2 are far better on a bike but if it's your thing you will like it anyway in the car.

We are staying in Dalavich so Loch Awe is definitely on the list!

Take them to the Pierhouse hotel Port Appin for lunch fantastic outlook IMHO.

Sea-life centre at Barcaldine, Ardnamurchan(takes far longer to get to the lighthouse than you think it will), Fort W then steam train to Mallaig over 'Harry Potter' Glenfinnan viaduct, Cruachan power station if wet...good visitor centre, Mull and then Iona...usually dolphins somewhere, boat-trip to Treshnish Islands/Fingals cave...think thats your week pretty full!

Do a circuit..Mull, Tobermory, Kilchoan,......take a gander at Calmacs website and see what day cruises you could do.

The coast road to Fort William offers some beautiful scenery, Oban distillery might be worth a visit (lovely single malt), take a run to Inverrary, try the tablet ice cream and see all the posers on their motorbikes (there's nothing else there) Ganavan sands (you'll get the beach to yourselves). There's a power station built into the side of Ben Cruachan which seems to attract a lot of visitors (i've not been). Glencoe can be awesome or awful, depending on the weather. I think you'll return on your bike when you see some of the roads. Have a great holiday.

Seil island, seafari into the gulf of Corrievachan from seil.

Depends what you and the family like? and the age of the kids?
Easdale Island with it's flooded slate quarries and workers cottages is good day out - about 15 miles south of Oban at the west side of Seil Island. Interesting museum and walk around the island - nice swimming in the quarries as well at this time of year Lots of "fools gold" visible in a lot of the slate.
Further south is the Crinan Canal - nice drive out to Crinan along the canal.
Would also recommend Cruachan power station - a trip into the mountain to the turbine room is a bit special.
If your going north around Appin past the Sea Life Centre and towards Glencoe it's worth doing a loop around Loch Leven and stopping at Kinlochleven with it's Ice Factory - indoor ice climbing and all types of climbing walls.

Ardnamurchan is a long but pretty haul!

Better to do Oban to Craignure ferry Drive up the east to Tobermory via Salen and "possibly" get the ferry to Kilchoan and back out to the Corran-Ardgour Ferry and back down to Ballachulish

I always fancied finding out if Foot passenger and "Bus" to Tobermory and back was a do able thing and I could actually enjoy a few swallies in the Mish Nish

N.B. The Kilchoan Ferry does not run Sundays so If you decide a wee trip over to Ardnamurchan is on the cards and you don;t want 40 miles of single track road? Don't miss the last one back or it will be a long drive

Ardnamurchan lighthouse is worth a look its the most westerly point on UK mainland and the wee coffee shop has excellent coffee and tea and Buns

Sanna Beach is an awesome sight too
