Ok , I've just done Steptoes external fuel filter mod , I've rebuilt the bike and everything seemed fine ..... until I noticed the fuel gague . It is reading 3 bars when I know it is empty and the light was on before I started .
I was carefull when removing the sender etc . so , is it possible to put the round mounting plate back in the tank 1 bolt hole out as i forgot to mark it's position or have I more than likely bent the arm on the float ??

Yes you can put the plate on 1 hole out DAMHIK

anyone got a picture of the plate in place on the tank to show me where the cut out on the lip goes ??

The flat part of the plate should be pointing towards the mount (the part that fits over the rubber bobbins on the frame)...

Ok , It's official ........ I AM A COCK OF THE HIGHEST ORDER !!!!!!!!

I just went out to double check the plate position. When I lifted the tank back I also lifted it up at the front to have a look at the plate position.
It was at this point that I heard the woosh of petrol as it transferred from the right tank lobe into the left to equalise the level. Almost instantly I thought to myself " WHAT A FUCKING DUMPLING YOU ARE RODDNEY !! "

turned the ignition on just to confirm and low and behold the fuel tank is showing empty again

We've all fallen foul of pish mechanic skills fella, it's all part of the learning curve.

For me it started when I was a kid. Filling the mower up with petrol as a 11 year old, I had to see how well an apple would burn with a petrol accelerant.
Unfortunately I put the petrol can about 6 inches away from the apple I was lighting. The petrol can caught fire right next to the mower.
To stop the mower catching light I kicked the petrol can clear. Unfortunately it had half a gallon in and the fire engulfed the patio and the coal bunker

Never done anything like it since, but the lessons keep coming

omg what a numbty lol all good fun we all learn no matter what age we are lol keep riding and keep living lol never laughed soo much heyyy ! ive done silly things to from a r1150rt rider plus alos own a r80rt
