Nice work, i know when ive had ducati bikes with ohlins the ride was way better than the base spec test bikes i tried with sachs shocks. But, coming off an ohlins clad ducati prior to my gsa, the gsa esa stacks up very well for plushness, if you improve on the esa youve done well imo, am interested to hear how they compare.

Just had some good news this afternoon !
My Ohlins Shocks ESA has arrived from Swiden and are now resting at Ohlins headquarter
I just made a appointment with them and I should have them fited on Tuesday 1th off May
I can not wait , I am so exited

nice bike, i like the screen, i wish i could run to the full esa set up i dont think its bad value at all because your getting the very very best in suspension technology, i know people with high end mountain bikes with suspension setups costing 2k, you got me thinking about the standard ohlins setup to replace my esa setup though, does anybody what sort of price the standard ohlins setup is?

thats what i did with my last bike & didn't regret it one bit.put a set of ohlins on and transformed the bike,plus when you sell it you'll get as much back.

Sorry , I had a busy day an extremely busy evening and didn't had time to have my Say on the shocks !
So this beauties yes are expensive staff but a mint cost a mint around £3k !
I have to say that the team off people done a great job from my point off view . They are truly professionals , some off the members off this team they just came back from Sweden having special training on how to fit this shocks so I was in safe hands right from the start.
It took a few hours to have them fitted but I didn't mind waiting .
So as soon as the bike was completed , I took it for a ride and yeas it was exactly what I was looking for!
My journey back home it was like sailing , so smooth and beautiful ,I actually have no words to describe but I was smiling all the way and thinking and planning ahead some lovely trips round the europe for this summer .
But in one word , I am pleased and happy , completely satisfied.
I look forward now to enjoy my biking adventure , doing some serious travelling in to the unknown

Ohlins Mechatronic and BMW - BEWARE!!!
I fitted a set of Ohlins Mechatronic to my 2010 GSA last Autumn. Ordered them with a bespoke rear spring to suit my needs - my weight of 105kg and I tour a lot two up fully laden. Verdict - awesome, streets ahead of anything else, but having had non-ESA Ohlins on my previous RT I knew that anyway. Paid £2,500 but worth it as it restores the smiley face big time.
However - after having my bike dealer serviced this Spring the ESA adjustment would not let me into the preload settings and the bike was stuck on 'solo' rider only. The damping was still available, i.e. 'Comfort'; 'Normal' and 'Sport'. A bit of searching on the internet reveals that when the dealer plugs in the diagnostic tool to read and clear fault codes, the computer shows an ESA fault. The dealer naturally clears this down and hey presto - no preload adjustment. It seems that Ohlins have been aware of this since late 2012, so I'm a bit pissed that I wan't told that before buying.
The 'solution' is to reconnect and recalibrate your original BMW shocks, if you still have them. You don't have to do a full refit, just unplug the Ohlins and plug in your o/e shocks and get a mate to hold them while you let them have a chat with your bike's electrics. This is still a pain as it involves lifting the fuel tank - so if you didn't sell your o/e shocks, allow about an hour and a half for this reset. Of course this restricts your use of the bike as you won't be able to get it dealer serviced whilst away from home or else you will lose the preload adjustment, which is a non-starter if you have a pillion and a load of kit.
