oil filler cap seal leak

As above, replaced my valve covers with another set. Re-used the seal, but for some reason oil seeps upwards and outwards into the cap. Would you install with sealant or ?

sounds like you need a new set of O rings for the filler cap and rocker cover, very cheap as they leak all the time, replaced mine a few times now and had the bike for close on 3 years

My 2003 1150 6000KMs,with new BMW "locking!" cap, always seems to have a bit of oil on the back of the L/H rocker cover,I thought it was oil that gets between the insert & the cover & then when riding a mixture of heat(thinner oil) & air flow drives it out onto the cover .
