Firstly sorry if this in another thread, did a quick search and couldn't see it....so here goes
I tried to undo my filler cap on Saturday, first time since its 6000mile service. No could do, with the end of the spanner as the book says. Garage had obviously over tightened.
So ride to the dealers (figured the warm engine might loosen the grip a bit) still no joy.
One of the sales guys came over (always very helpful and informative). They use the "C" spanner the suspension one to tighten/untighten. There is a small notch in the C spanner and they use this to connect to one of the three raised "lumps" (sorry got technical there) on the oil filler cap. Result!
Anyway there you go. If you have probs using the standard (by the manual) spanner try using the C spanner
Cheers
