Well, that didn't work too well. You need to subscribe to be able to send or receive PMs. Cheers.

thanks for offer glenboy, i did that offroad run with you near blessington, i was respraying the engine black as it was a bit patchy. i had sump guard off so decided to change oil. checked manual when i came in and seen oil changes at 12k ,bike has only done 3k since last change so the filter can stay.call me if you a fancy a spin to south kildare.087 2316842

i have a 1100 filter tool and will be passing Kildare tomorrow if ya want.
Email me [email protected] if ya want it. Alternative is to put a 2ft 2"x 1" up to the filter and tap two nails through the timber into the filter, use it like a spanner, worked for me when I was stuck.

oil filter replacement - boxer engine

Hi. motorworks.co.uk sell the tool for removing the oil filter, less than 8 quid sterling though not sure of the postage, the boxer engine is relatively straightforward and can definitely be looked after from home, with dealer prices for servicing it is definitely worth the small investment to buy the tool, first oil change and it will pay for itself! cheers, John
