oil from new?

Have got engine re-assembled the oil is clean as it had only done 4oo miles, i had to lose about half the oil to replace a damaged oil line,

I will eventually replace it all, but whilst i try and fire it up for the first time i will need to top it up, will it be ok to top up with ordinary motor oil as i have some, i am only worried that it may have had fully synthetic from new and they may not be compatable.

Anyone know what they put in from new? cheers.

Very unlikely to full fat synthetic, more likely to be semi syn. Most probably "ordinary" 10/40.

You could ask the supplying dealer what they put in.

Excellent, it's only to fire it up, it'll probably blow up anyway.
