Greetings people I've not long had my R1150 (contrary to my post saying hello I only have the R1150, not the GS version which sort of makes my user name a bit silly but anyway I'm floating off topic)
Basically I've got a 2002 model it's just short of 30000 miles on the clock and I have a small oil leak, now I'm in no way a qualified mechanic and short of knowing which end the petrol goes in and which way the wheels go round I have no idea what most bits are called....
I was hoping to attach a picture that I have on the mobile to show exaclty where I mean but I've been stumped by the 'enter URL box'. So as best as I can describe it, under the final drive system there's a tringular piece that runs diagonally down off the rubber boot, the oil is running a path down there. It's not gushing out and only seems to happen when I've had a long run. The guys at the garage seem to think either the seal has gone in the diff or in the gear box but short of removing the rubber boot they don't know. So basically my question is has anyone else had this problem and if so how was it rectified?
Any advice would be greatfully recieved and I can go back to the garage soundly like I know what I'm talking about!
Thank you kindly
