dont know how long its not been working :blast was reading through lilith's tale and thought i would see how long the oil light stays on for after the engine has run, and the ruddy thing aint working. i can get oil light if i put the wire to earth (so i know the lamp and wiring is ok) is the pressure switch something i can get locally from a motor factors or is it a speciffic BWM item. i am confident i have oil pressure i just wanted to see how long the light stayed on for  cheers Bm

Might as well get a genuine BMW one -they are not too pricey, think I paid 6 quid for the last one. I did read somewhere that BMW car ones fit, better to be sure that you have the right switch IMHO. You might need a long reach socket to fit it as the terminal could get damaged when you put the rachet into the normal reach socket. Hope this helps. The oil light should go out straight away when the engine fires.

cheers duncan, was hoping to find one locally so i dont have to use the bike when i know the pressure switch is not working. good suggestion about the long reach socket. :thumb2:thumb2 Bm

The switches seem to get bunged-up regularly, even with frequent oil changes.

I am on my second in 2.5 years.

You're getting me paranoid about oil pressure now :blast
