oil seal

how dificult is it to change the rear oil seal in the final drive housing????? i mean the small one just under the rubber boot.
 
'05 GS 1200, 45,000miles. my final drive is leaking badly - NOG are replacing it (the final drive) under warranty as the "seal" is internal and can not be repaired / replaced.

might be a completely different problem with your bike of course. . . . .

strange, as it is all available in parts (never used to be)till of late
 
just going by what my dealer has told me - like i said - renegade's problem may be completely different........:thumb2

easy with the right tools - i.e. Airgun and the special socket that undoes the castelated ring.

Also replace the inner metal ring that fits inside the seal if you do it.
