Oil smelling petrol.

Hi guys,

i am worried as my GSA 36.000km now, was chnaging the oil last weekend and i noticed after opening the oil cap there was a petrl smell comming from the engine oil.
I am using still Castrol 20w50 actevo.
What are your thoughts?? is because the oil is not right anymore as it has 36.000km and i need to change to synthetic like Motorex 10w60 for boxer engines??

Let me know as i am heading to Passo stelvio next month and i am worried if the bike is running rich and may make a damage to engine??
as to let you know bike has Acrapovich no baffle and K&N filter installed.

Don't worry about it. 36000km is still a youngster.

Highly unlikely to be running rich with that combo - would be more worried it might be running lean

There is no problem, just ride and have fun!
Just be a little careful with the new oil 10-60 ! That is for Australia and very hot places.

Hi there, actually i meant 15w50 for boxer engines made by motorex.
Here in albania is hot and normally i use the bike all year. As it is only about 36 days a year not possible to use it.
Plugs are fine and i don't see an increase in the oil level so i should take it it is fine.
