OK who amongst us lives on the Isle of Wight?

Aww poor Stigo, hey its not mad cow or bird flu is it lol!
I am sure somewhere on this forum before I have noted an islander with a red gs but cannot recall for the life of me who it was :blast Come on Gavin, you must have an idea who has the red one :D

Ah a result! It was just after 5 tonight and I was waiting to cross from the Mall over to Laundry Lane with my 12 yr old daughter, I had to wait for you to pass and noted it was a gs straight away!
Did you go left at the Waverly pub along to Clatterford?

Give us a wave next time!

We must organise an IoW GS get together again. We had one last summer but...best speak to Gavin about that.

I tend to ride all year but am looking forward to going to work and back in daylight - wont be long now!

Ah yes, we know Gavin, not as well as you others probably do I know but certainly up for that gs meet whenever you guys are ready, I ride all yr too, I cant bare the thought of my bike being laid up in the winter, I like to get out as much as I can.
Dont ride in the wk at this time of yr as I live so close to work I simply walk so only get the wk ends during the winter but its great in the summer to get home, changed and get out there !

Little Beemer,

I'm thinking of coming over to the IOW this Sunday for a ride with Ms Shadowfist, the weather is looking ok and i've never been over there before. Are there good places to ride, see etc.:nenau

Yes some good rides about, lots of country lanes and so on if you know the Island well, this is where nick should step in as I dont think there is anywhere on the island that he doesnt know, he takes me on some right magical mystery tours sometimes over here, when I can get him to come out that is as he much prefers to ride about over your side of the water but I guess thats down to the fact that he is driving about the island all wk working :(
Hoping to meet up with some fellow island gsers soon, maybe we could arrange it for this Sunday then...anyone ??
Chris, I can recommend a nice country pub to eat at, plenty of parking and nice food, called The Wight Mouse Inn out at Chale, its off the Military Rd which is notorious for Sunday bikers.

If you do come over what way are you thinking of coming, which crossing?

Well, I've been on the Whitelink Ferries site and looking at the Portsmouth - Fishbourne route at 0730 and departing back to Blighty at 1600. Not booked yet as I want to make one more check on the weather. I've spoken to Erika (Ms Shadowfist) who is very excited about the prospect of a ride. How long is the ferry crossing? It would be great to meet up with some fellow GSer's and go for a nice ride and pub lunch. Are there any other Mainland based Tossers who would be up for a ride over to the IOW?

Chris

We either use the Fishbourne to Pompey or Yarmouth to Lymington crossings when we travel over, takes approx 30 mins to get over. We book online as saves us a tenner per bike and rider - £20.50

Yes its only wightlink from pompey and yarmouth and then Red Funnel from Southampton. Could be dearer cause you coming to the Island and not an islander, or that you need to click on the specials section and look under biker bargain, I will check it out later or you could give them a call and ask.

Thanks Little Beemer but I have just booked the crossing. Portsmouth - Fishbourne @ 07:30 on Sunday. Figured we arrive at a good time for Breakfast somewhere:nenau and then enjoy riding the island for the day with a nice pub lunch:thumb2 Hope to see a few IOW tossers on the day:D

Thats cool, but breakfast on the island at 8am! Not sure off the top of my head what would be open at that time of the morning here during the winter, I will have a think or maybe someone else will help me out on that one before I get a chance to get back to you.
Maybe a few of us on here can arrange to meet you at somepoint in the day :nenau , I know that Nick and I will most probably be up for it, you have a PM :thumb

Looking forward to meeting you all.
Just hope the Island Tossers turn out, not in bed with hangovers.
And hope weather is good, both for your day out and the crossing.
Just take care on the boat. Keep it on side stand and in gear. I place a peice of thin rubber between deck and stand as a rule.
Oh been told i not to lie in and meet up with you if want 2.
She said were going to "White Mouse" for tucker. Not missing the chance of a cooked meal.;)

would a part time gs owner be invited, will be out and about this sunday morning. not able to ride to work at the moment, not enough tool capacity on the bike

Right, I am gonna be brave now and make a suggestion that we, any gsers meet up at Shanklin seafront cafe between 9.30 and 10.00 Sunday so we can all have a chat and a cuppa, breakfast for Mr & Mrs Shadowfist and anyone else that may come over.
Then from there on only if Shadowfist and others want to we could go for a ride around the island....nick says that will take an hour.....only kidding :D
Over to you lot :thumb

Good idea. I'm aiming to be there. Was planning a day on the mainland but it would be good to meet up. :thumb2

Excellent VT, if you check out the "Thames Valley" section you will see more details of what is happening, who will be where and when, look forward to meetin ya, oh and you and shadow can be twins for the day with your identical bikes just like me and my bike double that is comin over :D :thumb
