Well it does not have to be new but you know.

I had a GS back in 2002 and a KTM.
Well cut a long story short whilst doing some Supermoto i decided to really go for a Jump.
The rest is a Mystery even today but i landed in the Netting with another Husky on my head.

Result....Broken Collar bone, both legs, left arm , fractured neck and a brain hemerage.
This happened in 2003 and since then its been a struggle.

Anyway, Whats the latest news on BMW's. I loved my GS but i guess things have moved on since then.
I am going to try to pick up the courage at the end of the year to sling my leg over again.:rob

Thanks

Bangler, I salute your determination and attitude - go for it mate. Hope you do make a full recovery and get that leg over again :)

I seriously thought about using the KTM just for SM, maybe start racing, but you tell a very sobering story.

Get well soon.

Thanks, its been a long haul. Bones mend but that blob on your shoulders is the long term problem. That's where the confidence has to come from.

But hey, its on the mend , not as if there was alot in there in the first case:nenau

Hi Banger, you've some bottle, but fair play to you.

Boy, that sounds like one hell of an accident, but glad you seem determined to sling you leg back over.

Welcome, and good luck with whatever you decide.:clap

I can relate to that.
Had a big off last year, broken fibia horn via a spiral fracture and broke all 3 parts of my ankle and had it pinned back together.
The bones do mend, but i'm wary of getting back on a bike. Like you say it's the bit tacked onto the neck that's the problem. I was never Mr Confidence in the first place!

Hope you keep improving. Best wishes. :thumb2

Loss of confidence

Take it steady - you are in no hurry; If you think you are an old man take comfort because as you progress you will feel younger and fitter and more capable. The latest 1200GS is one of the most 'user friendly' bikes I have ever owned and if you are fit enough to climb aboard nothing else is too difficult; best of luck.
