Heading home to Guernsey this afternoon.
I’m on the slow all weather ferry which takes about 7 hours as can’t dock till 2200 due some weird restriction.Got a cabin to chill out in though.
It runs only on a Saturday but is a safer bet than the more regular fast cat which only takes 2 hours but won’t go in much more than a Force 6 .
I’ve probably only done 6/700 miles but been a great little trip . The weather has been rather shit with either clear skies and freezing fog or 6-9 degrees and grey or raining .
But what do you expect in January ?
Having the right heated and waterproof kit meant I never got cold , apart from my feet the first morning in France .
And the mighty Wing copes with everything .
It’s actually rather liberating and relaxing pottering around in the rain , staying bone dry underneath.
Going to lock the house up mid morning Then head the back way to St Malo and have lunch at my favourite restaurant, Le Castello within the walls before 1430 ferry check in .
Not much of a trip report .
Off to Gran Canaria in just under 3 weeks which will be a tad warmer and hopefully drier
