When I got my F800GS, the info handlebar button changed the bottom display of the on board computer and let me cycle through temp, avg mpg etc... but now it cycles through the trips on the top level of the on board computer.

Anyone know how to get the info button to cycle the bottom part of the display again?

The manual doesnt seem to shed any light on how to change which part of the on board display the the info button is configured to.

My one changes between trips when pressing the lower button on the speedometer... are you sure you are not pressing that one?

hmm... no. On mine the top one cycles trips / timer mode, then the bottom button does the temp/mpg modes.

Problem is, the info button used to cycle the temp/mpg modes like the bottom button but now the info button cycles the trip distances.

Somehow I've managed to change the info button from controlling the bottom button to control the top button and can't figure out how to change it back???

When you put the display in timer mode, does the info button (on the handlebar) then control start stop timer? I've done this in the past and then changed it back... although I don't remember how!! LOL

Try when in timer pressing and holding the top button... it's something like that. You've got to press and hold one of the buttons to change it back, can't recall which one though!

Yes Emdub, when I put the display in timer mode, the info button controls the timer.

I've tried to press & hold different sequences of buttons in but to no avail. I still can't get the info button to control anything other than the trip / timer display. I know it can definitely control the mpg/fuel left display as it did that when I got the bike. Somehow I've managed to push something sequence that's changed the info button so it controls the top part of the display.

Still scratching my head on this one.

I finally figured this one out. The INFO button controls either the top or bottom part of the onboard computer depending on what LAP setting you are running. LAP ON means INFO controls the trip and timer displays, LAP OFF means it controls the mpg/avg speed/temp display.

To change what INFO controls:
Turn on ignition
Press and Hold the top and bottom button to enter the FLASH ON/OFF and LAP ON/OFF settings
Select LAP OFF
(important bit I was missing before) Press and hold the top and bottom buttons again to save settings

That last bit was where I'd gone wrong. I'd changed the settings but not saved them. Doh!!

Thanks for offering your help Emdub and Tr5esu

...and how you could have done that accidentally is what I'd REALLY like to know! :-D

Other than what you've mentioned it does, what is the settings for FLASH and LAP for? :)

FLASH ON / OFF = the max revs LED on the rev counter flashes
LAP ON / OFF = Stop watch timer part of the onboard computer. When ON you can control it via the handlebar INFO button
