On my way to Algeciras - Morocco bound

How about this for a route, any one done it, I guess a fair bit of it will not be mettled road, but I don't know. Tafraoute to Tiglit not too far from Tan Tan via Assa I think...
In 2018 I did the first part of your Blue route but headed further South out of Assa before turning right on to the piste across to Tan Tan via Msied. Your route should be fine.

Around Tan Tan make sure you STOP at any stop signs you come across, even if you can see it's clear. The police around there have a habit of hiding behind bushes and handing out 400dh fines to anyone who fails to stop at them.

Today I decided to stay again in the town of Tarfaoute, which eneabled me to do a circuit of 225KM without my bags, this took me 6 hours with a few drink stops. Tarfaoute to Tioulit to Tanait to Tighimi to Tiffermit and back to Tarfaoute.

There is nothing Anti about the Anti Atlas it is breathtaking and even now in mid November the temperature afternoon is in the 30's.

The roads are virtually empty and the scenery is always breath taking. I ended up after a suggestion from Paul BHT at the painted rocks.

The Quad lock wireless charger is proving unreliable. But everything else is good. I am now wondering which way to go, head further south and visit for a day the Western Sahara, or chill out a bit and start heading for the coast.....

Staying another night in Tafraoute, so just a 200 km spin this morning, I re ride the 50 km section from two days ago in the opposite direction, done already and now some rest and research...

The bike has been, so far great, wish list:
Possibly better suspension, not obligatory.
Handlebar risers.
Maybe a saddle cushion, but so far not too bad.
Maybe a different exhaust as standing your heel rests on the silencer which is annoying.PXL_20231117_100516454.jpgPXL_20231117_121112655.jpg

You could even pop into Mauritania for a bit since you’re thinking of heading for Western Sahara

I doubt I'll go that far, in fact I know I won't. Actually looking at the map now trying to figure out what to do. I was thinking Western Sahara, to see better the er, Sahara, but I think it won't be any better than what I saw last week. Scratching my head now as to which direction to take. I still have a max of if fifteen days left.

We shall see. Being alone means I can make my own mind up, it is also quite lonely. In India for a comparison, it would be much easier to get into a conversation with a local than it is here, I miss that. But sure I might go to India in the new year so all's good.

First world problems.....

Today Tata to Tarfatou. 160 K with a lovely 50k stretch off road. The quad lock charger did not work and I ran out of battery which was a pain. Can't say in the real world I am overly impressed with the wireless charger or the damper, which I already removed. I must remember to start each day at 90 percent or more as it just seems to charge intermittently....
lovely ride though, the country keeps subtly changing.

This is the only phone charger/mount I’ve ever found that works for anything off-road

Works for you, sometimes works for me. I bought the whole caboodle too, including dampener and poncho, the poncho is a must in the rain in Spain.....

Oops sorry you were recommending something else. Cheers

I think I'm going to try the tizi n test pass, ignore Marrakech but stay the night in the countryside. Then head to Essaouira. Then maybe down to Agadir, before heading back in land towards the mountains again.
But, I can still change my mind ...

I always found that you could ride for hours without seeing a single person but as soon as you stopped at the side of the road or piste someone would appear asking for a cigarette :D

Thanks again for taking the time to post this all. How is Mapy.CZ suiting you?
Mapy.cz is very good. Yesterday for some reason I started with Google maps and it had me going around in a circle, which I realised fairly quickly. Once I switched back to map.cz no issue.

I also paid for my route, but I find it tedious and rarely use it. I guess I need to practice with it as I don't find it intuitive whatsoever.

Thank you.
Paid for your route?
I know what you mean though about it not being intuitive, beyond entering a single destination I struggle with any of the navigation devices/apps - something I need to sort out.
