On my way to Algeciras - Morocco bound

Another fantastic day Richie.

Morocco really does have a surprise around every bend.

Thanks for your excellent video. We crossed the pass both ways in early spring 1994 driving a Renault 4! The biggest issues were sudden snow showers and nearly being washed away by thawing water filling otherwise dry watercourses ..

Cheers lads, I might stay here a day, then move to the coast. After that possibly back into and along the atlas, before thinking of heading home.

The place I am at now is a few km out of Asni and 1500, three blankets.... Possibly walk up the mountain a bit...

Sidi Ifni is fantastic! There's a complete 'Spanish town' where the military used to live.

We stayed at the Belle Vue for a few days chill before returning to the UK. It was the only place back then and it was being done up. Totally surreal after a month in the interior to find Sopaisg tapas, typical Spanish tiles on the walls and locals openly drinking beer as opposed to speaking off sales away under their robes

@richie, if you are going to head South back to the coast out of Asni, about 130k South is a place called Oulad Berhil. Here you will find a real gem called Riad Hida, a stunning place to relax, and a pool too if it's warm enough.

I left Asni this morning, I kind of felt an obligation to see the Atlantic again. But tomorrow I'll leave Essaouira, I mean sure it's a nice place and I'm having a beer or three, but it's not what I've been experiencing since I've been here. Found a great bar, more locals than tourists, Ouf. Photos not allowed.

This morning's queue for petrol....

There was a local round by the cop shop and a really good cake/coffee shop as you leave the main square, entering the main shopping street, on the left.

Fantastic photos as ever Richie and great videos too. Thanks from me as well for posting up. Really enjoying your trip. 👌

Back in my gaff near ANSI, tomorrow I head back towards the desert direction zagora.

I really recommend this place near ANSI it's called Dar iglouham , it is on booking dot com it is rudimentary but very good and his evening meal is lovely. But I am getting a bit fed up of tajine, which is available everywhere but sometimes not a lot else....

This morning yet again I left ANSI, in the direction of Zagora. I arrived in Adgz where I am staying the night after seven hours on the road with a coffee stop, lunch stop and water stop included. I also went to an ATM at the post office where there are no charges.

So far nineteen days has cost me 1100euro, which includes everything, including the 250 which was stolen. Fairly cheap going, I think in actual fact I am now about 3800 km into this trip in Morocco. I think also I crossed paths with Chris Scott and his group.

Last night's Riad in Agdz was very good, nicest as in smartest place I have stayed at breakfast and dinner included 380 which was a bargain

I left late and sauntered down to Zagora on the back road. Had a late lunch and booked into another Road. It was four pm, but I jumped on the bike and rode down to the end of the road HAmmid I believe it's called, just got back in the dark, great evening.

This track just south of Zagora, anyone done it? Possible on a middleweight adventure bike?

Tomorrow I start heading back up. Four to seven days....
