You'll get quicker with practise but then you'll find that it really messes with your fuel consumption, brake and tyre life

Don't talk to me about tyre life this is what the motorways to get to Scotland did to my rear tyre

and yes it is standing up on it's own

To be truthful though the tyre was over half killed before I set out.
