One more sleep till hilltop

Don’t know how else to explain it really, before tune max torque was at 5500 rpm, the figure is now produced at 2000 with a larger figure at 4500.

As it happens the maximum torque figure on your graph is identical to mine within 1nm but mine is made at 4500rpm and the power is virtually the same also by a couple of hp but mine is made at 7500rpm. Results are similar just achieved a different way.

Sounds reasonable, and that is why I added the comment about not worrying too much about the Dynochart, as the difference is hard to read on a chart. The Dyno is made at WOT, while the difference to midrange fueling is felt mostly when you drive at less than WOT, which is most of the time for most of us.

GB Many thanks for the reply. Sounds good to me. Personally not into the numbers game just so long as there's a positive difference on the road then i'm happy

Those seem like unusual results. The torque peak for that engine is at higher RPMs, and 2000 rpm is usually about 2/3 of the peak.

What matters though, is your satisfaction with the result.

You are correct, peak torque is higher than 2000rpm, my peak torque is at 4500, just that my previous max figure is produced now at 2000rpm rising to a higher figure at 4500.

Hi, GB
All that matters is your happy with the remap. It sounds like you are!!! I'm interested in the overall throttle response the feel, smoothness and running temperature of your bike as I,m having major problems with mine check thread (Right leg under thigh getting cooked)

Fitting the headers lost a lot of the heat, having it remapped made it even better, no noticeable heat at all now. That was the main reason for decatting for me, I didn’t expect major gains as akros website doesn’t boast huge gains. It does rev quicker without the cat and flappy valve.

How have you bypassed the flappy valve? Have you any error codes and finally what headers have you had fitted.

No error codes, the akropovic headers come with simple instructions showing you how to fit them and remove cables etc. Takes a couple of hours to do

Make sure you get him to monitor your fuel to air ratio on both runs. And post them, please. It will make interesting reading.......

Indeed - how otherwise can he say its running lean or not?
