Had one of those moments today on leaving work - Followed a car out of the estate and onto the dual carriageway. The car pulled out into the traffic flow and I looked right to check for a safe gap, and off I went. Only then did I discover he had changed his mind... So down I went. Ouch.
Fortunately I only bruised my shin.
Discovered that the GSA is remarkably resilient and, apart from some light grazes on the cylinder head protector and engine bars, and a broken mirror glass, it is undamaged.
Mr Hooton's foglight protectors did their stuff and protected the expensive foglight from damage. Sadly the same cannot be said for the Peugeot that I hit - said foglight protector did a good job of denting the hatchback and putting a deep gouge in the paint. The protector itself also did its sacrificial shield thing well, and ended up somewhat munged itself. I'll have to take it off and see if I can bash it straight again.
Now, do BMW sell mirror glasses on their own, or must I cough up several tens of pounds for a whole new mirror? The stem and plastic head are undamaged.
