A doo on in clova hall the nicht,sort o a glen xmas get togither.
Bring yer ane drink, a couple o local folk singers,and a buffet fae dykheed shud be a bra nicht. Well its whit ye mak it onywiy.

Well, the Doo was a success ,wi a load o cash fur hall funds,Drink flowed until the big hoors o the mornin

As i huv noo bein elected hall chairman Ah hud tae dae a wee speech welcomin abidy, nae bather --not. Never been used tae that sort o thing i found it quite difficult and tae be honest am embaressed wi ma efforts. Must try harder next time and no get tongue tied.

There are village halls all over scotland as you would expect,most of which struggle to justify staying open.

They can be a very cheap type of accomodation especially if there is a group or even two or three people. A friend of mine told me that a lot of climbing clubs use halls throughout scotland for this reason.

Glen clova hall can be rented for a day and night for £60 ,other halls are similarly priced. There is a kitchen and this price also includes electric.
Might be an option for those of you planning Scotland next year,

Regarding village halls, we're quite lucky in the our village (Keiss) has a very strong Village Hall comittee....so strong that we've just opened a brand new hall at a cost of around £400k. This is for a village with a population of around 400, so it just shows that with perseverence, patience and a lot of arse kicking you can achieve a lot.

we'll be awright fur a wee overnight doo in the hall then jist mind the radiators are firmly fixed tae the walls and the fire extinguishers are hidden away

It is built on the land of the old one, for sure! Had some excellent do's in it already, it was only completed in 2007.

Regarding the cost, this is The Mother Of All Village Halls...it's bloody huge. The main hall is big enough for a smallbore rifle range and archery, it's got a full kitchen, bar, conference rooms, Male and female showers and bogs plus other bits.

There have been some horendously-inflated costs for public buildings around the highlands in recent years - it sounded like yours was similar......... obviously not the case
